Come make some memories at this year's homecoming. There will be a host of activities that pair the parade, tailgate, and football game with newer traditions such as Rebel Red Day. Here's what's on tap:

Homecoming Kickoff

SU Pida Plaza

Come help the campus jumpstart homecoming on the Student Union Pida Plaza. Enjoy music while you eat free food and grab a free homecoming t-shirt. The top 10 Homecoming Royalty will also be announced. This event is co-presented by CSUN Student Government and Rebel Pride Council.


Window Decorating Competition
Oct. 12
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
SU Pida Plaza and SU Courtyard

The UNLV Window Decorating Contest is a homecoming tradition visible at the Student Union. Visit the Union to see the artwork and pride of UNLV students, staff, and faculty.


Homecoming Campfire Social
Oct. 12
7-9 p.m.
Student Recreation and Wellness Center Lawn (between Dayton complex and SRWC)

Come roast marshmallows, make s’mores, and enjoy open mic performances. Presented by the Rebel Pride Council and Outdoor Adventures.


Homecoming Game Show
Oct. 13
6-8 p.m.

Think of Bonk as a comedy game show. Instead of buzzing, the contestants have to bonk themselves in the head to answer!


Rebel Variety Show

The Rebel Variety Show, a signature tradition, is UNLV's annual talent show and competition during homecoming. All UNLV students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend or participate in the talent show. Talent categories include group spirit, vocal/instrumental music, dance, and theatre/comedy. Participants will be judged on the overall entertainment value, originality, technical merit and difficulty, creativity, and appearance.


Rebels After Dusk Carnival

Join us for this free event. Enjoy the variety of carnival games and food. This event is co-presented by CSUN Student Government and Rebel Pride Council to bring you an amazing fun-filled night.


Annual Alumni Homecoming Reception
College of Urban Affairs and School of Journalism & Media Studies Alumni Chapters
Oct. 15
6-8 p.m.

This free homecoming reception is a great opportunity to network and reconnect with classmates and faculty. The reception will be held in the lobby of Greenspun Hall and is open to all College of Urban Affairs alumni.


Homecoming Rally
Oct. 15

Join the football team, marching band, cheerleaders, and Rebel Girls for the annual Homecoming Rally at 7:30 p.m.


Rebel Red Day
Oct. 16

Show your pride and join this citywide celebration by wearing your Rebel red. Purchase your Rebel Red at the UNLV Bookstore.


Homecoming Dodgeball
Oct. 16
4-6 p.m.
Student Recreation and Wellness Center MAC Courts

Bring your friends and play dodgeball. This event is free to all UNLV students, faculty, and staff.


Alumni Cocktail Reception and Dinner
Oct. 16
Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7:30 p.m.

Activities include a silent auction benefiting student scholarships and recognition of the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year and Silver State Award honorees.


Runnin' Rebels First Look '09
Oct. 16
9 - 10:30 p.m.
Thomas & Mack Center

Join the UNLV Runnin' Rebels for the opening basketball practice.


Football Tailgate and Game
Oct. 17
4 p.m. Tailgates, 7 p.m. Kick-off

UNLV hosts the University of Utah at 7 p.m. Halftime show will feature the homecoming court and alumni winners. The tailgates begin at 4 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium. For game tickets, call 702-739-3267 or visit unlvtickets.com.


Parade
Oct. 17
5 p.m.

Back at Sam Boyd Stadium by popular demand, the homecoming parade will begin at 5 p.m. Come early and grab a great viewing spot as the parade makes its way through the Star Nursery Field tailgate area, around the Rebel Experience area, and around the stadium.
